Web Gem - Re: PDL Game of the Year?
In what may be considered the PDL's Game of the Year, the Indiana Invaders handed the Chicago Fire Premier their first loss since 2003, a 35-game regular season unbeaten streak. With a 1-0 lead Chicago held Indiana scoreless until the 88th minute before the Invaders tied it up to force overtime, which proved even more thrilling. Check out the South Bend Tribune's coverage of the match.

Great game!
Actually the best part of the game was the great saves made by both goalkeegpers in key situations. I also thought the referee did a good job in controlling an increasinly volatile situation as the game entered the 80th minute of play and it got more frantic. Both red card violations were by the book and were caused by great emotion and not by negative play. This brought back memories of the 2004 NCAA women's championship game where a seemingly low-scoring match suddenly became a no-holds-barred thriller.
it is a pleasure to watch soccer played at this level.
